Adding Inventory

Adding a new vehicle to the inventory is easy.  Simply click the “Add Item” button (Figure 4) and the Add Inventory Item page will be displayed (Figure 5).  If the user wishes to perform an automated VIN lookup, then they may type the VIN Number into the VIN Number field and click “Automated VIN Lookup”.  Upon clicking the “Automated VIN Lookup” button, a new popup window will display the results of the VIN lookup, including the year, make, model, transmission type, number of doors, vehicle type, City MPG, Highway MPG and Combined MPG (Figure 6).  After clicking continue, the information will automatically be added to the vehicle’s listing.  At this point, vehicle images, pricing information, mileage information, options and other details may additionally be added to the vehicle (Figure 5, Figure 7).  After filling out all of the vehicle’s information and clicking “Add Inventory Item”, the vehicle will be listed on the dealer’s public website, added to the website’s search engine and added to the Backend Inventory System (Figure 8, Figure 9).

Homepage Editing

In addition to maintaining a dealership’s vehicle inventory, a dealer may additionally modify their website’s homepage.  Just as a user would modify a document using Microsoft     Word ®, or WordPerfect ®, the homepage manager, allows a dealer to modify their website’s homepage to include important information, such as “Super Sales” or company promotions.  Available are the options to add new text, change text font sizes, font colors, font types, set fonts to bold, italic, add website links, add images, add bulleted points and more (Figure 10). After creating the desired homepage, “Change Homepage” (Figure 10), may be clicked to post the changes to the live website’s homepage (Figure 11).  In addition to modifying the homepage, featured vehicles may be added or removed by using the “Modify Featured Listing” option (available for both new and used vehicles) (Figure 12).  Simply use the drop down box to select the desired Featured Vehicle’s VIN number and a preview of the Featured Listing is displayed.  When the appropriate vehicle’s are selected, the user may finalize their changes and click submit.  The result will be a modified Featured listing as displayed in Figure 12, showing multiple featured vehicles and a link to its listing.
